Jammertest 2025: SAL SPU-200 Demonstrates Resilience at Andøya, Norway

Advanced Precision

Over the past days, SAL Navigation’s advanced anti-jamming and spoofing technology, SAL SPU-200, has been put to the test at Jammertest 2025, held at Andøya, Norway – the world’s largest open PNT/GNSS resilience testbed. This unique event provides a controlled yet highly realistic environment where large-scale jamming and spoofing can be carried out safely, offering the maritime industry unparalleled insight into how systems perform under true real-world conditions.

Real-world Testing – Real Insights
These data from the initial tests highlight how systems respond under severe interference conditions:

Image 1 – Normal conditions: The SAL SPU-200 and three conventional shipborne receivers operate with stable positioning.

Image 2 – Under jamming: When a strong, multi-frequency jamming signal is introduced, the conventional receivers collapse and rapidly lose valid positioning.

Image 3 – SPU-200 performance: While the conventional receivers freeze, the SAL SPU-200 maintains high-precision positioning and both indicates and issues jamming alerts.

Preparing for Future Threats With Industry-Leading GNSS Resilience Testing
The threat environment at sea is evolving, and technologies capable of withstanding tomorrow’s challenges are critical for safe and efficient navigation. These results underline why field testing under authentic conditions is indispensable. Laboratory simulations can only go so far — resilience and operational reliability must be proven in real-world environments. Once again, the SPU-200 stands out by maintaining precision and situational awareness even under severe interference.

Further results from the extensive programme at Andøya will be shared in the weeks ahead. Read more about Jammertest: https://jammertest.no/
